Farlow School has an established PTA which meets regularly to organise events and raise funds through a variety of activities in order to benefit the school environment and enhance our children’s education. Over the years we have raised many thousands of pounds which have been spent on improving equipment, resources and facilities at the school. Regular expenditure is on travel costs for trips, daily fruit for the children and gifts for the children at Christmas and Easter. Our biggest fundraiser of the year is the school fete and show which takes place at Farlow & Oreton Village Hall on the first Saturday after school starts back in September. The show provides an opportunity for all members of the community to show their own produce and their skills at handicrafts and baking, and there are special classes for the children to enter. This community event enjoys enormous support and raises a substantial amount for the school. We generally also organise two other smaller fund raisers during the year such as a quiz or sponsored walk.
We welcome any parents or grandparents interested in helping to please come along to our meetings which are usually held in school. If you are unable to make a meeting but would like us to raise something, please just let one of the PTA know.
For more information on how you can get involved, no matter how big or small, please get in touch via the school who will be able to pass on any messages to the PTA.
The P.T.A funded the purchase of benches and a pergola to provide a sheltered seating area in the playground.
